Last month we lost a brother we were living with Imran Mtui. He was murded, the cut of his head and wrists and threw the remaining body parts at a local railway station. If it wasnt for his watch, clothes and shoes we wouldnt have been able to identify him. Till now we cant even go collect his things from the station because the guys are too busy with other cases to follow it up. We have liased with the embassy about this and in the end nothing really has been done just a bunch of empty promises. All they could tell us is, if you guys werent at home or in your uni's we really cant intervene. Can you imagiine? Two nights ago three of our younger brothers were attacked in their home by some local indians. WHen they opened the door they were attacked with machetties! They were demanding they call their friends back (who had left and were chased by the same indians since they saw africans walking at night and they wanted to run them over for FUN). When they saw the guys were stalling they locked them in the house took petrol poured it all over the house and lit a match. They stood outside waiting so that they cannot come out, and if they did they were told they would be beaten to death. They managed to call the president of TASABA (Tanzanian Student Association) and he came with cops. They managed to push back the angry mob and it gave the kids a chance to get out of the house. So the cops speak to the locals and turn on the tanzanians who were there and start beating them with their sticks, even the guys who were stuck in the fire. Naturally people run to avoid being hit. The kid who's house was torched went to the landlords house for assistance, all the landlord did was tell him to stand outside brought him quarter of his deposit claiming that the rest he needs to repair his house.
